Why I Envy James May

Why be envious of Captain Slow? Well he did something that I would have given my life to do, and no i'm not talking about him driving a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport to a speed of 259mph. And not because he has managed to resist the temptation to punch either the Hamster or Jezza, at least in public.

No, I am talking about the time he flew to the edge of space in an American U2 spy plane. Of course it goes without saying that as a sci-fi fan I have always had dreams of seeing the Earth from above.

I think you should just watch the video and see what I mean.

Now of course as the U2 is still in active service in the US Air Force, there is no chance of ever experiencing this for real (Unless you join the US Air Force of course). Also I wanted to mention what James said at the end of this video, "if everybody could do that once, it would completely change the face global politics, religion, education everything" He sums it up perfectly, the world would change almost overnight.

This might seem idealist, but I really don't care if it is and I've got a message for Richard Branson and his passenger spacecraft idea.
